Fine-scale predictive modeling of Aedes mosquito abundance and dengue risk indicators using machine learning algorithms with microclimatic variables.

Effective prediction of Aedes mosquito abundance and dengue risk indicators such as the Aedes Index (AI) and Dengue Positive Trap Index (DPTI) is essential for early intervention and targeted vector control. However, current models often rely on coarse regional data and fail to account for microclimatic variations, limiting their predictive accuracy in dengue hotspots. This study developed fine-scale predictive models using machine learning algorithms; Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector Machines (SVM) to estimate mosquito abundance and dengue risk at the s

Deep learning predicts therapy-relevant genetics in acute myeloid leukemia from Pappenheim-stained bone marrow smears.

The detection of genetic aberrations is crucial for early therapy decisions in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and recommended for all patients. Because genetic testing is expensive and time consuming, a need remains for cost-effective, fast, and broadly accessible tests to predict these aberrations in this aggressive malignancy. Here, we developed a novel fully automated end-to-end deep learning pipeline to predict genetic aberrations directly from single-cell images from scans of conventionally stained bone marrow smears already on the day of diagnosis. We used this pipeline to compile a multit

Brain Emotion Perception Inspired EEG Emotion Recognition With Deep Reinforcement Learning.

Inspired by the well-known Papez circuit theory and neuroscience knowledge of reinforcement learning, a double dueling deep Q network (DQN) is built incorporating the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals of the frontal lobe as prior information, which is named frontal lobe double dueling DQN (FLD3QN). The framework of FLD3QN is constructed in accord with the brain emotion mechanism which takes the frontal lobe and the thalamus as the core, in which the part of the Papez circuit is simulated by the bifrontal lobe residual convolution neural network (BiFRCNN). Moreover, a step penalty factor is de

[An ensemble model for assisting early Alzheimer's disease diagnosis based on structural magnetic resonance imaging with dual-time-point fusion].

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. Due to the subtlety of symptoms in the early stages of AD, rapid and accurate clinical diagnosis is challenging, leading to a high rate of misdiagnosis. Current research on early diagnosis of AD has not sufficiently focused on tracking the progression of the disease over an extended period in subjects. To address this issue, this paper proposes an ensemble model for assisting early diagnosis of AD that combines structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) data from two time points with clinical information. The model employs
