We report findings on abdominal imaging in critically ill children admitted with MIS-C. On sonography, hepatomegaly, nephromegaly, gallbladder wall edema, ascites, intestinal inflammation and mesenteric lymphadenopathy were seen, while CT showed fluid-filled small bowel loops, mural thickening of the terminal ileum, diffuse lymphadenopathy, and moderate ascites.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of gallium-67 ((67)Ga) scanning in the differentiation of malignant tumors from benign tumors or inflammatory disease in the oral and maxillofacial region. Study design Fifty-two patients with tumors or inflammation in the oral and maxillofacial region underwent (67)Ga scanning. The results were compared with the final pathologic diagnosis.
RESULTS: The gallium-67 scanning images for 20 of 21 patients who had malignant tumors were positive (95.23%); images for 3 out of 20 patients who had benign tumors also were positive (15%).

Pathologic criteria in tuberculoid adenitis enable differentiation between follicular adenitis with or without caseous necrosis and that involving suppurative necrosis. The absence of specific etiology is emphasized. Seventy cases of tuberculoid adenitis are analyzed. PURPOSE: This study aimed to assess the diagnostic value of serum amyloid A (SAA) levels during attacks of periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome.
METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the medical records of 51 children diagnosed with PFAPA and 51 control patients. Serum levels of SAA, C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were measured.

18-Fluorine fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has been shown to have use in the diagnosis of inflammatory and infectious diseases in addition to its primary use in cancer. We describe a case of early neurosyphilis that initially presented as symmetric, generalized lymphadenopathy on PET/CT. We conclude that PET/CT may play a role in evaluating targeted diagnostic interventions, disease extent, and treatment efficacy for disseminated syphilis.

Sporotrichoid forms of atypical mycobacterial infections usually do not show a tendency to spontaneous healing. The therapy of choice in such cases is systemic antibiotics. BACKGROUND: Acute appendicitis is the most common surgical emergency in pregnancy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical presentation, management and outcome in patients who underwent appendectomy during pregnancy.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The case records of 56 women who underwent appendectomy during pregnancy between January 1985 and December 1997 were reviewed and analyzed.

PURPOSE: To document the long-term visual outcomes in patients with Blau syndrome.
METHODS: A retrospective institutional cohort study was conducted, and 13 patients with genetically confirmed Blau syndrome were included. Demographic and clinical data were collected from standardised medical charts. Baseline was defined as the first detected uveitis and data were recorded onwards at intervals of 1, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 years.

AIM: Although the etiology of plasma cell dyscrasia is poorly understood, there is evidence for immune dysregulation or sustained immune stimulation playing a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of these diseases, including chronic infection and autoimmune disorders. In this study, we report four autoimmune disease cases where monoclonal gammopathy (MG) was incidentally found during follow-up.
METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the medical charts and laboratory test results in the following four cases: neuromyelitis optica, Kikuchi disease, Sjögren syndrome and ankylosing spondylosis.
