OBJECTIVES: PNS is critical to prevent the spread of STIs. We evaluated the feasibility of integrating PNS into an STI clinic focused on MSM.
DESIGN/METHODS: The RI STI Clinic, in partnership with the RIDOH, implemented a PNS program in 2019. Interviews with patients diagnosed with gonorrhea/ syphilis were conducted. RIDOH attempted outreach to partners identified. We utilized interview data among MSM diagnosed with gonorrhea/syphilis in clinic from 1/1/19-12/31/2021. Bivariate analyses/multivariable logistic regression were conducted.
RESULTS: 341 MSM were diagnosed with gonorrhea/syphilis

A systematic approach to contact investigations has long been a cornerstone of interrupting the transmission of tuberculosis in community settings. This paper describes the implementation of a systematic 10-step contact investigation within an acute care setting during a multistate outbreak of healthcare-associated tuberculosis. A systematic approach to contact investigations might have applicability to the prevention of other communicable infections within healthcare settings.

We report on the results of a measurement study carried out on a commuter bus in Dublin, Ireland using the Google/Apple Exposure Notification (GAEN) API. This API is likely to be widely used by Covid-19 contact tracing apps. Measurements were collected between 60 pairs of Android handset locations and are publicly available. Contact investigation is one public health measure used to prevent tuberculosis by identifying and treating persons exposed to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Contact investigations are a major tenet of global tuberculosis elimination efforts, but for many reasons remain ineffective.
