We aim to describe the technical aspects of pace mapping (PM), as well as the two typical patterns of pacing correlation maps during ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation. The first main pattern is focal, with a gradual and eccentric decrease of the QRS correlation from the area with the best PM correlation. OBJECTIVES: In this study, the authors sought to investigate the added value of vein of Marshall ethanol infusion (VOMEt) as first step in facilitating radiofrequency (RF)-guided mitral isthmus (MI) block.
BACKGROUND: Achieving MI block with the use of RF ablation is challenging.
METHODS: Seventy patients planned for MI ablation were randomized 1:1 to VOMEt as a first step preceding RF (endocardial and epicardial, VOMFIRST group) vs RF ablation as a first step preceding VOMEt (RFFIRST group). We report a novel method of surgical ventricular restoration for an infarcted lateral wall: the endocardial linear infarct exclusion technique. First, transmural ventriculotomy is performed at the centre of the scar longitudinally along the coronary artery. Polyurethane pacemaker leads are widely used nowadays. However, only a few studies have been done to investigate the fixation mechanism of polyurethane leads. To elucidate how pacemaker leads are fixed at the early phase after implantation, polyurethane-insulated tined ventricular leads were implanted in seven mongrel dogs.
