A 24-year-old woman with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome had complex partial and right sensory motor seizures. MRI showed periventricular subependymal heterotopias, agenesis of the posterior part of the corpus callosum, mega cisterna magna, and aneurysms of the sinuses of Valsalva. This may constitute a new subtype of type 1 Ehlers-Danlos syndrome characterized by X-linked periventricular subependymal heterotopias and epilepsy.

In this report we describe two cases of fetal midline intracranial cyst presenting with ventriculomegaly at routine detailed second-trimester scan. In the first case, additional findings included a banana-shaped hypoplastic cerebellum and macrocephaly; autopsy after termination of the pregnancy revealed a glioependymal cyst. In lambs, acute and chronic communicating hydrocephalus has been created by merely increasing the amplitude of the intraventricular cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pulsations, leaving the mean CSF pressure unchanged.
