PURPOSE: Wearing high heels is associated with chronic pain of the neck, lower back and knees. The mechanisms behind this have not been fully understood. A middle-aged man presented for left foot diabetic ulcer care. Pedal radiographs were negative for signs of osteomyelitis. However, asymptomatic incidental osseous findings demonstrated significant plantar and posterior calcaneal spurring possibly consistent with diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH). Extraskeletal osteochondroma of the foot are rare benign cartilaginous tumours. We present a case of soft-tissue osteochondroma in the heel pad superficial to the postero-inferior aspect of the calcaneus. We propose the pathogenesis of this lesion might be related to metaplasia in the plantar aponeurosis as described in literature, or it may be a fracture of the calcaneal osteochondroma, growing and presenting as soft-tissue lesion in the heel pad.

Measuring medication adherence in patients with schizophrenia is difficult and lacks a gold standard. Consequently, a great number of different methods and instruments have been proposed. Plantar heel pain is a symptom commonly encountered by clinicians. INTRODUCTION: The treatment of soft tissue defects of the foot and ankle region remains a challenge, because special anatomical and physiological properties have to be considered.

The presence of subcutaneous nodules in association with rheumatoid arthritis is well documented. In most cases, these nodules occur in association with severe rheumatoid disease. Treatment should be initiated with conservative measures such as custom-molded shoes, nonweightbearing, and oral antibiotic therapy to control infection. The goals of surgery were to alleviate pain, improve function and cosmesis, remove infected bone, and prevent further infection. The surgical sites are completely healed without complications 2 years postoperatively.

Thirty-three subjects entered a blind-observer, random, prospective study of three forms of conservative treatment of sports-induced Achilles tendinitis, results being assessed by clinical and biomechanical parameters.
