BACKGROUND: Corticosteroids are used as adjunctive treatment of critical illness-related corticosteroid insufficiency in patients with septic shock. This study aims to compare the impact of hydrocortisone versus methylprednisolone on duration of septic shock in critically ill oncology patients.

Management of adult patients with classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is challenging and often complicated by obesity, metabolic syndrome, and adverse cardiovascular risk. Cryostabilized boric-hydrocortisone aquaeous mixture was used in combined treatment of varicose trophic ulcers complicated by eczema and dermatitis in 70 patients. To document the effect of salicylic acid on hydrocortisone penetration in vivo in the rhesus monkey, hydrocortisone 14C, with and without salicylic acid, was applied in acetone and the solvent evaporated.
