The aim of this work was to evaluate transvaginal sonography (TVS) in the study of tubal patency as part of the investigation of female infertility. We compared falloposcopy employing a new coaxial system with traditional laparoscopic chromotubation and hysterosalpingography in a prospective, multicenter clinical trial at five tertiary infertility centers. A total of 324 patients participating in our in-vitro fertilization/embryo transfer (IVF) programme underwent a diagnostic hysteroscopy.
