Atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, autoimmune corpus atrophic gastritis, gastric remnant man 15 years after gastrectomy, hyperplastic or adenoma polyps and gastric ulcer are conditions associated with an increased risk of gastric carcinoma of intestinal or diffuse type. The role of Helicobacter pylori infection is major but the usefulness of H. pylorieradication to revert precancerous lesions is questionable. Except for patients with dysplasia, no consensus exists for endoscopic surveillance of these premalignant conditions in countries with low incidence of gastric cancer.

A 30-year-old woman presented with subacute intestinal obstruction. Clinical evaluation and radiological studies pointed toward an enteroenteric intussusception with intestinal polyps. Exploratory laparotomy revealed a retrograde intussusception mass acting as a lead point for a second prograde jejuno-jejunal intussusception. Resection and anastomosis of the involved segment was done. Histopathology revealed the presence of hamartomas. The patient was diagnosed with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome. The rarity of such a case is highlighted, and the diagnostic challenge it poses is discussed.

Autometastasis of colon cancer to the intestinal mucosa is a condition that has not been previously described. The 70-year-old man presented in this case report was seen for routine surveillance colonoscopy 14 months after low anterior resection, without anastomosis, of a Dukes' stage C mucinous adenocarcinoma of the rectosigmoid. The patient had received adjuvant chemotherapy according to Southwest Oncology Group protocol 8899. The routine colonoscopy revealed many new polypoid lesions in the remaining left and transverse colon, and the patient underwent completion total abdominal colectomy.

Filiform polyposis (FP) is a rare condition of uncertain pathogenesis, 28 cases of which have been published since it was first described in 1965. Five hundred barium enemas were reviewed to find the influence of the decubitus films on the radiologist's report. In two cases they demonstrated abnormalities that had not been seen on any other film. In 21 out of 43 cases they resolved a diagnostic problem that had arisen when viewing the other films. They were of greatest value in differentiating possible polyps from faecal residue in patients with imperfect bowel preparation.

Acromegalic subjects show increased frequency of neoplastic lesions in the colon and rectum with respect to the general population. OBJECTIVE: To investigate clinicopathological characteristics of colorectal sessile serrated adenoma/polyp (SSA/P) and its differential diagnosis from other serrated lesions.
METHODS: Clinicopathological features of all cases of colorectal serrated lesions from 5 209 colorectal biopsy samples at Shanghai Tongji Hospital from 2008 to 2013 were reviewed. Three hundred and fifty-three cases of serrated lesions were erolled in the study. Inflammatory fibroid polyps (IFP) are rare type of benign tumours found in the gastrointestinal tract. IFP´s are in most cases small in size and without symptoms but can cause intussuception and haemorrhage. We present a case of a 25 year old female who presented with abdominal pain and symptoms and signs of anemia, hemoglobin was 36 g/L upon arrival. Further workup revealed a large tumor in the small intestine. The patient underwent a partial resection of the proximal jejunum. Pathology of the specimen showed inflammatory fibroid polyp.

We report on a 7 1/2-year-old boy with macrocephaly, hamartomatous intestinal polyps, and café-au-lait spots on the penis. These abnormalities were reported in two other individuals thought to have the Sotos syndrome. We think that this triad of abnormalities represents a new disorder, the Ruvalcaba-Myhre-Smith syndrome. Prominent Schwalbe lines, prominent corneal nerves, and lipid storage myopathy also appear to be part of the syndrome. Macrocephaly, similar facial appearance, and a hamartomatous polyp in the mother suggest dominant inheritance.

We described the localization of human telomerase RNA (hTR) expression in human gastric precancerous and cancerous lesions by using in situ mRNA hybridization. Diffusely high hTR expression was found in all carcinoma and adenoma tissues. The blind-pouch-syndrome may display a variety of symptoms. But it rarely causes intestinal bleeding. In a patient suffering from anemia of chronic intestinal hemorrhage, a blind-pouch was diagnosed through the search for colon polyps. A hemicolectomy with a side-to-side ileocolic anastomosis was performed 30 years ago, but there were no symptoms of maldigestion or malabsorption. The explorative laparotomy revealed an anastomotic stricture with a lot of coproliths in the ileum-blind-pouch. The histological examination of the resected anastomosis showed an unspecific inflammation of the mucosa.

Intestinal Talaromyces marneffei (TM) infection among patients with HIV/AIDS is rare. Herein, we report 31 cases of intestinal TM infection in Guangxi. Most patients exhibited fever, lymphadenectasis in the abdominal cavity, and chronic intestinal symptoms. CD4+ T-cell counts <50 cells/μL were reported in 28 patients.
