The article presents the history of cholera epidemics in Poznań to explain how, and with what results, the Prussian authorities used medical knowledge and practices to control the non-German population of the annexed territories of Poland in 1831-1866. The study proves the problematic nature of attributing susceptibility to cholera to Poles as a backward and inferior race, which the Prussian authorities did to justify their racist policy towards Poles. During the 14-year period from 1959 to 1973, 60 primary cervical carcinomas were diagnosed at the Kaplan Hospital; 53 were squamous cell carcinomas and seven, adenocarcinomas. A focus of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is present in Israel among Jews born in Libya. The present study examines the clinical features in this particular group of patients. In a country-wide study of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, we identified 114 patients; 49 were Libyan immigrants, and 65 (three of whom had Libyan ancestors) were born in other countries. Four examples of Israeli communities or large families in which high consanguinity is common are presented, with two different lysosomal storage disorders within each community. Several studies showed ethnic disparities in multiple myeloma (MM) incidence and prognosis. In order to compare prognosis and overall survival between different ethnic groups, a multicenter retrospective study was conducted in Northern Israel. A total of 145 patients suffering from MM were included (72% Jewish, and 28% Arabs) who were treated between 2008-2018.
