OBJECTIVE: To study the prevalence of somatic diseases in patients with mental disorders based on the results of medical examination in Moscow mental health clinics in 2018.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis of the results of the clinical examinations of 6492 outpatients, which accounted for 79.5% of patients who underwent medical examination in this time period.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the methodology of laparothoracoscopic Ivor Lewis esophagectomy in surgical treatment of esophageal cancer and compare early outcomes of this procedure with conventional Ivor Lewis surgery.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: There were 30 laparothoracoscopic Ivor Lewis esophagectomies followed by non-hardware esophageal-gastric intrapleural anastomosis for esophageal cancer. The variability of the naked section of the chaetoid cover of itch mite Sarcoptes scabiei De Geer females was studied. The sample used was divided into 5 grades by the number of undeveloped chaetoids. The structures surrounding the naked section, its size and dimensions of the female body were analysed in each grade of specimens. Such grade scale for describing the chaetoid cover proved to be useful for comparative analysis of human and animal forms of itch mite.

Mental dysfunction of 130 children aged 0-14 years with a history of family physical abuse was studied using a number of known methods adapted for early aged children including an original scale of mental dysfunction assessment, which has been elaborated in Mental Health Research Center (Moscow). A battery of clinico-psychopathological and clinico-psychological methods allowed comprehensive assessment of mental state, with 95% cases of mental dysfunction being found in the group studied. The most pronounced were depression spectrum disorders.

An immature female worm, Dirofilaria immitis, was isolated from the scrotum of a 14-month-old child. This is the first identification of human dirofilariosis caused by D. immitis in a relatively Northern region (Moscow) of the Russian Federation. Statistical data are detailed concerning compositional, therapeutic and diagnostic aspects of urgent diseases of the ear (inflammation and traumas of the external ear, acute and aggravated chronic otitis media, acute neurosensory hypoacusis, etc.). 580 patients were urgently hospitalized to ENT clinic (Moscow General Hospital N 1) at the Russian State Medical University in 1995 for urgent diseases of the external, middle and internal ear. This makes up 28% of a total of hospitalized ENT patients. The most effective policy of treatment for each ear disease form is analyzed.

A total of 230 patients admitted to Moscow city hospitals were examined to study the diagnostic value of a kit "Diagnosticum for the detection of erythrocytic myoglobin, dry". Myocardial infarction was diagnosed in 165 of them: in 138 it was transmural, in 27 intramural and in 65 the diagnosis was not confirmed (they were entered into the control group). OBJECTIVE: Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most frequent form of cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL). Human T cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) involvement in MF progression is a matter of debate. Plasmin inhibitor (PI) determination is an essential diagnostic method. The purpose of the study was to develop an amidolytic assay for estimating PI activity, by applying the test system made by RENAM (Moscow).
