BACKGROUND: Between 1990 and 1999, we performed radio-hyperthermo-chemotherapy (RHC) in 44 patients with high-grade soft-tissue sarcomas of the limbs.
METHODS: Radiotherapy involved the delivery of radiation at a dose of 2 Gy once daily on 16 days, to give a total dose of 32 Gy. Hyperthermia was conducted once a week, with a total of five sessions. When whole cells (stationary phase) of Yersinia pestis strain EV76 were radiolabelled with Iodogen and 131I, 16 major and 10 minor surface-exposed outer membrane proteins (OMPs) were identified. Labelling with N-hydroxysuccinimidyl 6-biotinylamino-hexanoate (biotin X-NHS) resulted in a complex protein profile detectable after blotting and developing with peroxidase-conjugated avidin. Extensor tendons ruptured in 12 patients as a result of osteoarthritis of the distal radio-ulnar joint. Rupture occurred without warning in ten cases and was sequential in five. Perforation of the dorsal capsule of the distal radio-ulnar joint, allowing contact between the roughened ulnar head and extensor tendons, was present in every case. Degenerative arthritis is a frequent pattern after old fractures or rotatory subluxations of the scaphoid. The authors have studied this phenomenon, on 48 wrists. In old scaphoid fractures, the degenerative arthritis begins with an impingement between radial styloid process and proximal pole of the scaphoid, and then reaches the lunocapitate joint. A dorsi flexion by instability is then constant. We describe a sensitive radio-immunoassay for auto-antibodies to glomerular basement membrane (GBM). The assay discriminates patients with glomerulonephritis associated with circulating auto-antibodies to glomerular basement membrane from those with other forms of nephritis. Monitoring of antibody levels in sequential serial serum samples enables drug therapy to be tailored precisely to control the aberrant immune response, a situation unique in the management of glomerulonephritis.

We have studied the pharmacokinetics and metabolism in mice of CB 1954 and RSU 1069.
