A compact polarization demultiplexer (P-DEMUX) composed of a microring resonator in strip waveguides and two bus channels in slot waveguides is proposed and characterized. The modal indices of the TM modes for slot and strip waveguides have comparable values, while those for the TE modes show large differences. Recent studies of the synthesis, structures, spectroscopic properties, and reactions of a series of isolable metallylenes (R2E:, E = Si (1), Ge (2), and Sn (3); R2 = 1,1,4,4-tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)butane-1,4-diyl) are summarized. These are cases with a high risk of intravitreal hemorrhage and a need for quick visual rehabilitation. We examined 23 patients, who had undergone pars plana vitrectomy and silicone oil filling.
