PURPOSE: This study used descriptive and inferential statistics to evaluate healing complications and survival time of avulsed permanent teeth.
METHODS: Records of children and adolescents with avulsion injury were identified, and data on age, gender, cause of trauma, number of affected teeth, and status of other teeth and supporting tissues were analyzed. In addition, data on root formation status, duration and medium of extraoral storage, and healing complications of avulsed and replanted permanent teeth were obtained for patients who attended follow-up appointments.

The etiology of surface and inflammatory root resorption after the replantation of incisors was examined in green vervet monkeys. The teeth were examined histologically and histobacteriologically for pulpal healing and root resorption 2 and 8 weeks after replantation. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of dental trauma educational intervention among undergraduate students of a Federal University in Brazil.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Students (n = 125) enrolled in the dentistry (n = 70), nursing (n = 33), and speech therapy (n = 22) courses were invited to attend a dental trauma lecture and also to answer a questionnaire about their confidence in managing crown fracture and tooth avulsion, before (T0) and immediately after (T1) the lecture. BACKGROUND: Avulsion of the permanent teeth is one of the most serious oral health problems among active children and adolescents. Traumatized patients require immediate and correct treatment in order to restore damaged structures and function that have major impact on daily patient's life. As a result, proper guidelines and fast treatment methods are necessary. This case report discusses treatment of maxillary right central incisor with an open apex that had been avulsed and replanted. We review applied treatment procedures to manage dental avulsion and restore function and aesthetics.

THE AIM OF THE STUDY: Was to determine the impact of the timing of radiographic detection of external inflammatory root resorption of an injured permanent tooth on the disease outcome.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study comprised 16 children aged 6 to 13 years (mean age 9.2±3.5 years) having the history of dental injury in 23 permanent teeth. Five patients (31%) were followed-up with clinical and radiological assessment according to protocol of International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT). Remaining 11 patients (69%) were reffered with complains one year and later after dental injury.

According to experiences improved by splinting the reimplanted tooth with passive wire arch fastened to brackets, and by filling the root channel with Ca(OH)2.
