Patients with disseminated intraperitoneal malignant neoplasms were given intra-abdominal photodynamic therapy. Patients received dihematoporphyrin ethers intravenously 48 to 72 hours before laparotomy at doses of 1.5 to 3.0 mg/kg. At operation, as much tumor as possible was resected. Red light (630 nm) was delivered to all peritoneal surfaces from an argon-pumped dye laser at doses ranging from 0.2 to 3.0 J/cm2 in an escalating fashion. This report describes an unusual case of right-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia discovered fortuitously in a 45-year-old woman. Herniation was characterized by intrathoracic protrusion of the right liver and other abdominal viscera, left intrahepatic biliary dilatation, and anicteric cholestasis. A patient who developed clostridial infection of the abdominal wall following laparotomy for small bowel perforation is described. Immediate debridement resulted in the loss of the entire abdominal wall. Dressing of the exposed viscera during the period of stabilization and prior to reconstruction was achieved using amniotic membranes.

Four cases of pleuroperitoneals diaphragmatic hernia are described. The onset in the four infants was intensive respiratory distress. In all patients the only herniated viscera was the stomach, that was found strangulated and dilated into the thoracic cavity. Lymphangiectasia of the lower limbs is a rare condition characterised by the dilation of lymphatic vessels, often resulting from damage or obstruction to deeper lymphatic structures. A symptomatic Meckel's diverticulum (MD) may manifest as an intestinal obstruction secondary to a volvulus. We describe a case of a meconium-impacted MD associated with inflammatory adhesions to adjacent viscera that presented as an intestinal obstruction in a 4-h-old infant secondary to an ileal volvulus with resultant infarction of the diverticulum and ileal segment.

Hernia of Morgagni occurs through an anterior defect in the diaphragm. Symptoms of these hernias are attributable to the herniated viscera. In our case, there was partial obstruction due to herniation of the distal stomach and pylorus into the right hemithorax that was reduced surgically through a right thoracolapaorotomy. Of special emphasis are the various modalities used to diagnose this condition in our case.

A case is reported of a retroperitoneal sympathic nodes ganglioneuroma in a newborn with classic early inborn syphilis involving practically all systems of the viscera, skin, placenta. Some peculiar morphological features of the tumour are described.
