Two hundred forty-nine cases of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) were reviewed by using the working classification of NHL (Chengdu, 1985). Fifty-eight patients with a congenital abnormality of the sacrum were studied; a modified classification is suggested. Type 1a is characterized by an abrupt termination of the sacrum with an otherwise normal spinal column. Type 1b shows a similar sacral deficit, but with abnormalities evident higher in the spine. In Type 2 the terminal spine is malformed, and in Type 3 there is posterior sacral dysraphism. A high incidence of concomitant congenital abnormalities was found in Types 1 b and 2. Bladder dysfunction in the absence of typical clinical signs was often found in Types 1a and 1b.

Light microscopy study of spermatic cord cysts in 26 men revealed three different histological patterns. First, cysts of probable mesothelial origin (14 cases) with an unilocular aspect: their epithelial cells showed poor cohesion and often appeared sloughed; subepithelial hyalinization or fibrin deposits were frequent. A consistent finding in epidemiological studies of mild mental retardation (MMR) is a somewhat higher prevalence of boys than girls. Our own study in Aberdeen agreed with these findings. Examination of the numbers of boys and girls at different levels of retardation within our study population revealed the greatest excess at the highest IQ levels of greater than or equal to 75. This was found to be true in other studies as well. In 202 surgical cases of anterior fusion of cervical spine, there were 150 cases in which disc herniation was the responsible lesion. According to metrizamide CT (met. CT) findings of these 150 cases, we proposed to classify the herniated cervical disc into 7 types. In the 150 cases there were 103 men and 47 women. The classification of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHLs) is an important factor in treatment. Most clinical protocols divide these tumors into two broad categories--indolent, or low-grade, and aggressive, or high-grade.
