PURPOSE: Triceps tendon avulsion (TTA) is an uncommon injury, and there are no classifications or treatment guidelines available. This study aims to describe a clinicoradiological classification and treatment algorithm for traumatic TTA in adults. The functional outcome of surgical repair has been evaluated too.

This report describes an atypical case of spontaneous mandibular regeneration of a large size bony defect after resection of an aseptic osteonecrotic area near the symphysis and parasymphyseal area. The patient underwent orthodontic therapy, vertical osteogenic distraction of the alveolar bone, and oral rehabilitation with an implant borne prosthesis. This case study also describes the 10-year follow-up of comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment and successful recovery of a patient's esthetic and functional aspects.

This study biomechanically evaluated three titanium locking plate constructs for stabilizing a segmental defect model that simulated a comminuted femoral shaft fracture in cats. Four groups were formed: G1 - single locking plate; G2 - plate-rod construct; G3 - dual plate in an orthogonal configuration; and G4 - intact bone. OBJECTIVES: The anterior curvature of the femur affects intramedullary nail insertion, revision prosthesis design, and the biomechanics of the proximal femur. Two previous studies, using small numbers of femurs, determined femoral curvature and showed that it was significantly greater than that of the several intramedullary nails they evaluated. In this study, the curvature of 948 femurs (474 matched pairs) was determined and compared with current intramedullary nails. The correlation of femoral curvature to age, gender, femoral size, and race was also evaluated.
