AIM: To analyze uroflow findings in older boys with tubularized incised-plate urethroplasty (TIPU).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: 79 toilet-trained patients who had TIPU were evaluated by studying their voiding history, a physical examination, suprapubic ultrasound and uroflowmetry, both pre- and postoperatively. The obstructive urinary flow pattern (OUFP) was accepted as low maximum urinary flow rate with plateau, staccato or intermittent shape.

Urological complications were studied in 310 live donor kidney transplants. All recipients and donors were investigated for urinary schistosomiasis by examining tissue obtained intra-operatively from the donor's ureter or the patient's bladder. The antireflux operation according to Lich-Grégoir (L-G) poses no particular technical problems and involves no major surgical stress to the patient. Of its intraoperative complications lesions to the bladder mucosa have to be considered in the first place. Its postoperative complications calling for reoperation comprise recurrence of reflux, ureteral stricture and ureteral fistula. Results of the Lich-Grégoir operation performed in 176 instances are reported. The complication rate was 4.5 per cent. The complications are commented upon, and the types and time of reoperations are discussed.

A group of 173 prostatic patients were submitted to a prospective study to determine the respective value of symptoms, uroflowmetry, endoscopic and radiological findings in the assessment of the degree of urinary obstruction. Uroflowmetry proved to bring objective evidence of the degree of obstruction with a reasonable degree of accuracy. Maximum urinary flow appears to be more accurate than other flow parameters in the determination of lower urinary tract obstruction.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the relationship between the operative methods and the therapeutic results of the patients with hypospadias.
METHODS: Nine operative types and different tissue materials taken in hypospadias operations in the past 12 years were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS: The operative types and tissue materials had significantly effects on the therapeutic results besides the clinical experience of the operators. The cure rates of Tunneltron Urethroplasty, Preputial island flap urethroplasty and Bladder mucosa graft urethroplasty were 86.4%, 83.3% and 83.0% respectively.
