Endocrine ductal carcinoma in situ (E-DCIS), first characterized by Cross et al. in 1985, is an uncommon entity, and there is little information on its pathobiologic features and natural history in the literature. AIM: Anagnostou et al. investigated the efficacy of oral immunotherapy (OIT) in treating peanut allergy.
SETTING AND DESIGN: An unmasked randomized controlled crossover trial of 7-16 year olds with double-blind placebo-controlled food challenge (DBPCFC)-proven peanut allergy. The first phase compared an active group undergoing 26 weeks of OIT with daily ingestion of peanut protein vs. a control group avoiding peanuts. Both groups underwent DBPCFC to peanut at 26 weeks. In the second phase the control group was then offered OIT for 26 weeks.

The clinical and pathologic features of 70 juvenile granulosa cell tumors (JGCTs) of the testis are presented. The patients were from 30 weeks gestational age to 10 years old; 60 of 67 (90%) whose ages are known to us were 6 months old or younger. Sixty-two underwent gonadectomy, 6 wedge excision, and 2 only biopsy. Twenty-six tumors were left sided and 22 right sided. Six occurred in an undescended testis and 2 in dysgenetic gonads. Male Wistar rats have been shown to be the most sensitive sex, strain and species to ethylene glycol-induced nephrotoxicity in subchronic studies. A chronic toxicity and dosimetry study was therefore conducted in male Wistar rats administered ethylene glycol via the diet at 0, 50, 150, 300, or 400 mg/kg/day for up to twelve months. We reviewed 954 primary nonurothelial epithelial renal neoplasms with primary resection at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center between the years 1980 and 1995 and classified 70 cases (7%) as renal oncocytomas. The study population was composed of 39 men and 31 women, and the mean age was 65 years (range 25 to 86 years). Fifty-six patients (80%) were asymptomatic at presentation, six (4%) had flank pain, six (4%) presented with a mass, and two (3%) had hematuria.
