Patient experience in National digital health platforms: Evidence from patient-generated feedback in Saudi Arabia.

National digital health platforms are becoming fundamental components of modern healthcare delivery; however, patient experience is commonly assessed using overall ratings or sentiment analysis, providing limited understanding of the specific dimensions that influence digital healthcare quality and service improvement. This study aimed to develop a multidimensional framework for understanding patient experience in a national digital health platform, examine variation across healthcare services, investigate changes over time, and identify evidence-based improvement priorities. A qualitative ana

Digital divide in information verification among young seniors: An analysis of literacies and sociodemographic factors.

In the post-truth era, characterized by rampant misinformation, seniors are particularly susceptible to its ramifications. This study endeavored to identify how sociodemographic factors and five literacy dimensions were associated with intentional information verification among young seniors and bridge the digital divide in verification. Based on the empirical data collected from 405 young seniors aged 55-74 in Hong Kong, the findings indicated that education was associated with both literacy levels and verification behaviors. Different literacy dimensions showed distinct associations with inf

Adolescents' use of an online Q&A service to enhance their oral health literacy: a mixed-methods text mining and thematic analysis.

BACKGROUND: Health literacy is fundamental to healthy behaviour, defined as seeking, processing, and evaluating health information to make informed decisions. Access to health information has historically been linked to socioeconomic status (SES), with disparities in health persisting due to unequal access to new health technologies. Digital technologies offer opportunities for spreading health information but may also increase inequalities through a digital divide. The Norwegian government established the website ung.no in 2003 to provide health information to adolescents. This study aims to

Increasing Use of Digital Technologies Among Homeless-Experienced Veterans, 2022-2024.

Veterans experiencing homelessness (hereinafter, homeless veterans), an important group in society, often have limited access to digital technologies, which may affect their ability to achieve social integration. Using data from annual national surveys of homeless-experienced veterans (HEV) from 2022 through 2024 (1992 in 2022, 2596 in 2023, and 2860 in 2024), this study compared their ownership of cell phone devices and computers or laptops and their use of the internet during a 3-year period. While we found no significant change in ownership of cell phones, we found significant increases fro

Digital focus groups in healthcare interventions: A reflexive methodological analysis of how socio-technical and relational factors co-produce qualitative data.

BACKGROUND: Digital focus groups are increasingly used in health research, yet their methodological implications within complex interventions remain insufficiently examined. When conducted with pre-existing cohorts, digital focus groups may function not only as evaluative tools but also as relational and socio-technical encounters that shape the generation of qualitative data. The goal of the present study was to examine how digital focus groups operate within this context. METHODS: This study presents a methodological re-analysis of focus group material originally collected for the evaluatio

The acceptability of digital cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia interventions: A mixed methods systematic review.

Digital cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (dCBT-I) is a promising solution to the widely recognised lack of access to CBT-I treatments. Although dCBT-I has been found to be effective, it is unclear how acceptable it is by recipients. This mixed-methods systematic review aimed to explore the acceptability of dCBT-I interventions by integrating a range of acceptability data from across quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods studies. PsycINFO, EMBASE, MEDLINE, CINAHL Plus and CENTRAL were systematically searched, yielding 2347 unique citations from which 68 studies were included in

Effects of Digital Interventions on Symptom Improvement and Quality of Life in Patients With Overactive Bladder: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

BACKGROUND: Overactive bladder (OAB) is a prevalent condition that substantially impairs quality of life (QoL); however, the real-world utility of standard behavioral and pharmacological therapies is often limited by poor long-term adherence. Digital interventions have emerged as a promising strategy to provide accessible and personalized support, but their overall efficacy compared with conventional care remains to be systematically established. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of digital interventions compared with conventional care for improving symptoms, QoL, and treat

Passive Social Media Use Is Associated with Social Withdrawal ("Hikikomori") Vulnerability in Autistic and Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder Young Adults.

Autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are neurodevelopmental conditions associated with social communication differences and distinctive patterns of online engagement. Both conditions have been linked to increased risk of social withdrawal, yet little research has examined hikikomori vulnerability-a continuum of withdrawal-related tendencies-within a transdiagnostic digital context. This study investigated hikikomori vulnerability among UK-based young adults with autism or ADHD and examined how active and passive social media use and online gaming relate to withdrawal vuln

Social and emotional e-processes and responses in problematic social media use among adolescents.

Although several psychological correlates of problematic social media use (PSMU) have been identified, less is known about social and emotional processes and responses occurring within digital contexts. Recent research with adolescents has defined socio-emotional e-competencies as an individual's ability to regulate their emotions online (emotional e-regulation) and maintain positive online relationships (social e-competency). Using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this two-wave study examined whether socio-emotional e-competencies are associated to later PSMU via two different mechanisms:

Mediating and Moderating Mechanisms in the Relationship Between Social Media Use and Adolescent Aggression: A Scoping Review of Quantitative Evidence.

Adolescents' pervasive use of social media has been increasingly linked to aggression, including cyberbullying and hostile online interactions. While this association is well documented, the psychological and contextual mechanisms that mediate or moderate it remain unclear. This scoping review maps quantitative evidence on mediators and moderators between social media use and aggression among adolescents. A comprehensive search using ProQuest's Summon platform was conducted across PsycINFO, Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Eligible studies, published be
