A model of the human neuromuscular disorders myophosphorylase deficiency and phosphofructokinase deficiency has been developed using intra-aortic injection of sodium iodoacetate in adult male rats. Iodoacetate selectively inhibits in vivo the glycolytic enzyme glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) accounts for approximately 3% of all cancer cases. RCCs usually metastasize to the lungs, bones, liver, or brain. Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare form of non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis. Herein we describe documented skeletal and pericardial involvement by ECD producing cardiac tamponade in a 30-year-old woman. A case of giant cell tumor of the thoracic spine simulating mediastinal neoplasm was identified on plain films, CT scans, MR images, and with scintigraphy. This study outlines a method for preparing a complex involving glycoluril and melamine (GU-ME). The structure of the resultant complex was analyzed using IR and NMR spectroscopy. In the subsequent phase, the polymer GUMEFA was derived from the resultant complex, employing hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid (HEDP) as a sustainable plasticizer, with a proposed chemical mechanism for its formation. The molecular weight of the resulting GUMEFA was analyzed, and the formation chemistry was proposed. GUMEFA was characterized, and its free formaldehyde and methylol group contents were investigated.

We report a case of Q fever demonstrated on (99m)Tc methylene diphosphonate bone scan and fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT. PURPOSE: Osteonecrosis of the hyoid bone is an uncommon disease that has only been described occasionally in the literature.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We report 3 cases of osteonecrosis of the hyoid bone after radiation therapy for carcinoma at various sites in the head and neck region.
RESULTS: Imaging computed tomography (CT) scans were performed for all 3 cases and did aid in the diagnosis. In 1 case, a 201thallium scintigraphy and a bone scan (99mtechnetium-diphosphonate) were performed and this confirmed the diagnosis of osteoradionecrosis.
CONCLUSION: Osteoradionecrosis of the hyoid bone

Dialysis osteomalacia is characterized by distinctive, although not pathognomonic, clinical and biochemical features. Symptoms and signs may include musculoskeletal pain, arthralgias, proximal muscle weakness, and spontaneous fractures.
