A 43-year-old woman presented with a generalized febrile illness, an exanthema with mixed maculopapulous and pustulous eruptions on the lower halves of the extremities, elbows, knees, palms and soles. On the basis of three case histories we discuss the menstrual toxic shock syndrome (TSS), characterised by multi-organ involvement, fever, exanthema and shock. The symptoms are provoked by a toxin (TSST-1), a product of certain St. aureus strains. A 10.6 year old Turkish girl developed + the signs of a polyglandular autoimmune syndrome (PGA) type I since her first year of age. A 76 years-old male patient received mebendazole, 500 mg four times a day (appr. 29 mg per kg body weight) for treatment of sonographically and serologically proven cystic echinococcosis of the liver. The purpose of this study was to determine the age-specific rubella seroprevalence and factors associated with rubella seropositivity in unvaccinated adolescents in Ankara, Turkey. In this cross-sectional study 229 students were selected with stratified sampling methods in 2 primary and 2 high schools of low to medium socioeconomic status.
