The cytologic findings from intraocular biopsy of coronal adenomas of three previously surgically enucleated eyes were studied. Cohesive clusters of nonpigmented epithelial cells were observed. Clusters of epithelial cells were surrounded by characteristic intercellular matrix material. Coronal adenomas have been clinically mistaken for intraocular melanomas. It is important for pathologists to be familiar with the aspiration cytology of the coronal adenoma to avoid unnecessary enucleation or iridocyclectomy.

Investigations concerned a group of 15 patients with an intraocular tumor diagnosed by clinical examination, ultrasonography and computer tomography. The record of the rheographical curve of the healthy and affected eye was performed. In all the cases the eye was enucleated and histopathological examination done. In the evaluation of results attention was called to a much higher altitude of the curve in the eye with the tumor which could evidence an increased blood flow in the eye ball.

CASE REPORT: We describe 2 patients who sustained eye injuries when tractor wheels exploded while being inflated. Descriptions of ocular involvement from such accidents are rare in the literature. One of our patients experienced severe eye trauma requiring enucleation. In the second case, despite trauma to both eyes, 20/20 vision was recovered.
COMMENTS: Injuries from exploding tires are compared to those seen in the context of air-bag deployment, and safety recommendations are discussed.

A 7-month-old infant referred with suspected bilateral congenital glaucoma was noted under general anaesthesia to have simple megalocornea in association with contralateral glaucoma in an eye suspected of harbouring an intraocular tumour. Following enucleation, histopathology demonstrated persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous. The presence of simple megalocornea of autosomal recessive inheritance in association with contralateral persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous in a buphthalmic eye is of ophthalmic interest, and appears to be unique.

BACKGROUND: Schwannomas comprise 8% to 10% of all primary intracranial tumors. Primary intraorbital schwannomas are rare, accounting for 1% to 2% of all intracranial tumors. Schwannomas arise from Schwann cells in the myelin sheaths of sensory and cranial nerves.

During outdoor work in April 2022, a 48-year-old man was stabbed by a tree branch and underwent intraocular foreign body extraction and repair of the scleral wound with sutures and amniotic membrane graft at a local hospital.
