PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine if there is an increased incidence of hypospadias in male offspring conceived by in vitro fertilization (IVF).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective institutional chart review from 1988 to 1992 and data from the Maryland Birth Defects Registry were statistically analyzed to assess the risk of hypospadias with IVF.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the obstetric outcome of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) pregnancy.
METHOD: This study compared the obstetric outcomes of 20 cases of IVF-ET pregnancy with that of 8210 deliveries at the same period in our hospital.

PURPOSE: To evaluate etiology of infertility, female age, ovarian response and stimulation protocol in affecting in vitro fertilization (IVF) success.
METHODS: Retrospective analysis was used. Computer records of all 5209 cycles initiated in 2391 couples from February 1, 1984 to December 31, 1993 were analyzed.

Two weeks after oocyte aspiration for in-vitro fertilization, a 38-year-old woman with a history of endometriosis presented with abdominal pain and fever. On exploratory laparotomy, both ovaries were enlarged and contained seropurulent fluid. Unilateral oophorectomy and drainage of the other ovary were performed. Pathological examination revealed infected endometriotic cysts.
