Delayed sequelae following conservative management of renal trauma in the pediatric population are uncommon. Reports of delayed operations to manage these sequelae are even less common. • Complete bladder herniation are very rare compared to incomplete bladder herniation. • Massive scrotal cystocele is usually defined with voiding symptoms. • CT, ultrasonography and retrograde cystogram should be performed to determine the involvement of the bladder in cases of massive inguinoscrotal hernias. • In massive scrotal hernia cases, bladder can protrude with the ureter causing hydronephrosis on the affected side. • It is necessary to place urinary catheter to empty the urinary bladder to manage the pain and to decrease the risk of injury of bladder during the surgery.

We describe 2 cases of hereditary nephrogenic diabetes insipidus with massive bilateral dilatation of the urinary tract without any organic obstruction. A review of the literature revealed that dilatation of the urinary tract was present in 67% of the reported cases of nephrogenic diabetes insipidus which included a description of the urinary tract. This strong association between hereditary nephrogenic diabetes insipidus and nonobstructive hydronephrosis suggests a cause-and-effect relationship in which polyuria is responsible for the hydronephrosis.

Over a one year period 13 fetuses with urinary tract abnormalities were detected by antenatal ultrasound. Extra-renal dilatation was found in six, in two abnormalities requiring an intervention after delivery. Intra-renal hydronephrosis was present in five cases, of which three required surgery during the neonatal period to relieve the obstruction. Other abnormalities detected were one case with unilateral multicystic kidney and one case with small dysplastic kidneys. Rapid changes in the renal anatomy during the development and resolution of an acute hydronephrosis may require multiple imaging procedures. The ionising radiation hazard limits the extent to which this may be achieved by intravenous pyelography. Grey-scale ultrasound offers a safe, non-intrusive technique for visualising the renal pelvis which may be repeated daily. The value of such an ultrasound facility is illustrated by 3 case histories.

OBJECTIVE: This study's objective is to assess the effect of preoperative factors on postoperative hydroureteronephrosis (HUN) after radical cystectomy (RC) in patients with bladder cancer (BC).
