OBJECTIVE: To compare approval rates of late termination of pregnancy (LTOP) requests before and after a policy change in Israel in late 2007.
METHODS: In a retrospective study, LTOP requests and board decisions from 2002-2007 (group 1) were compared with those from 2007-2012 (group 2) at 3 university-affiliated medical centers in Israel. Reasons for application, approval, or rejection were compared between the groups.

Bartonella bovis has been described in beef and dairy cattle worldwide, however the reported prevalence rates are inconsistent, with large variability across studies (0-89%). This study describes the first isolation and characterization of B. bovis among cattle herds in the Middle East. PURPOSE: To examine the leading indications for keratoplasty and identify the changing trends in the past 40 years in Israel.
METHODS: Pathology reports of all penetrating keratoplasties (PKPs) performed at Hadassah-Hebrew University Hospital from 1961 to 2000 were reviewed. We evaluated the indications for keratoplasty in each decade between the years 1961 and 2000.

We examined the effect of the emergency response on medical and public health problems during the 1991 Gulf War in Israel.
