Among the various micro-organisms isolated from man's cancerous tissues including the blood of such patients several species were described as new to science. Their identity is being discussed and the conclusion made that none of the scientific names proposed as new for these micro-organisms can be utilized taxonomically. This article reviews 20 years of research to determine if oral contraceptive usage increases the risk of breast cancer. Studies using animal models, epidemiology, and human tissues are presented. Results suggest oral contraceptives do not initiate breast cancer, but may act as tumor promoters, stimulating the growth of already transformed cells. The answers are not all in, and the need for continued research is emphasized.

Studies were conducted on the free-field heating of mammary tumors on the flank of mice and of tissue equivalent phantoms.
