The concept of embryomas or blastomas of connective tissues is difficult to define because of the usual association with a complex organ and typically malignant behavior. In the soft tissues, lipoblastoma is an example of a lesion which has a well-defined relationship to embryonic white fat and a capacity for differentiation. Its clinical behavior, however, is benign. This review discusses lipoblastoma in detail as an example of mesenchymal blastoma. Other potential mesenchymal blastomas and other primitive tumors of soft tissue with a capacity for differentiation are also mentioned.

An intracranial germ cell tumour (GCT) in a patient with cryptorchidism is presented. The known association between testicular GCTs and cryptorchidism suggests a possible common predisposition for gonadal and extragonadal tumours. To confirm this the frequency of the reported association needs to be defined.

This is a case of malignant mixed Müllerian tumor arising primarily from the fallopian tube. The tumor was distant metastasis to the omentum and the serosa of the sigmoid colon. Literatures published in the last two decades are reviewed and discussed.

A surgical approach to tumors of the septum is discussed. Two patients who had tumors in the posterior two thirds of the septum are shown in this paper. One had a benign mixed tumor and the other had an extramedullary plasmacytoma in the posterior two thirds of the septum. They underwent resection of the tumors with the septum by lateral rhinotomy. The first case additionally underwent an oval-shape resection of the palate. The postoperative profiles of the nose are good.

We report a 74-year-old woman with malignant mixed müllerian tumor and three women, aged 47, 58, and 76 years, with carcinosarcomas, all primary in the fallopian tube. The tumors grew predominantly intraluminally and were associated with hydrosalpinx. All four patients underwent salpingectomy. OBJECTIVE: Testicular dysgenesis syndrome (TDS) comprises testicular germ cell cancer, cryptorchidism and some cases of male infertility and hypospadias, which can be linked to impairment of intrauterine gonadal development. Among histological signs of TDS, large Leydig cell (LC) clusters (micronodules) are frequently present. This study aimed to investigate possible associations of LC micronodules with the presence of Reinke crystals and hormonal function of LCs, the latter primarily reflected by serum concentrations of luteinising hormone (LH) and testosterone, in patients with TDS.

A cerebral primitive neuroectodermal tumor with astrocytic differentiation and extracranial metastases in a 28-day-old infant is reported. The infant presented with a progressively enlarged head, cutaneous lesions in the neck, and enlarged cervical lymph nodes. A computed tomography brain scan demonstrated a giant thalamic tumor with subarachnoid dissemination and hydrocephalus. AIMS: Somatic malignant transformation (SMT) arising in germ cell tumours (GCTs) is an infrequent, but clinically relevant event. There is only limited knowledge on the morphological spectrum of SMT, and the therapeutic management of these patients is poorly defined. In this work we revisit two consecutive case series (n = 756) of GCTs. Clinicopathological data of SMTs arising in GCTs were determined, with a focus on the histopathological spectrum, and molecular aspects were obtained by Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).

Ultrasound remains the primary imaging modality for ovarian tumors, usually showing solid hypoechoic masses with abundant blood flow within the adnexal region. A 41-year-old man presented to his primary care physician with a 1-month history of left neck adenopathy in the context of a history of nonseminomatous germ cell tumors (NSGCTs). In 2011, the patient was treated for stage IB (T2N0M0S0) right-sided NSGCTs of the testis, which were 95% embryonal and 5% yolk sac tumors.
