PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy of intravitreal bevacizumab for treating diabetic retinal and/or iris neovascularization.
METHODS: Consecutive, prospective, interventional case series study of 60 eyes with diabetic retinal and/or iris neovascularization. PURPOSE: We describe two cases of branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO) as the presenting sign of cat-scratch disease.
METHODS AND PATIENTS: Case 1 (25-year-old man) presented with decreased vision, visual field changes, a swollen disk, and BRAO. Case 2 (27-year-old woman) presented with decreased vision bilaterally: findings on examination were a macular star figure on the right eye and a BRAO on the left.

PURPOSE: Peripapillary hyperreflective ovoid mass-like structures (PHOMS) are novel and not well characterized findings occurring in several disorders of the optic nerve. The aim of this study is to present two cases of tilted disc syndrome (TDS) and one case with optic disc drusen undergoing a multimodal imaging approach.
METHODS: In this case series, a qualitative evaluation of the OCTA findings in regions with PHOMS was performed.
RESULTS: Structural OCT revealed the presence of PHOMS. OCTA identified the presence of a vascular complex within this hyperreflective structure.

Acquired myelinated retinal nerve fibers (MRNF) is rare. The reported cases occur after optic disk injuries. We describe a case of a patient with neurofibromatosis type 1 and bilateral optic pathway glioma, who after 3 years' follow-up developed unilateral MRNF. Optical coherence tomography of the optic nerve disclosed progressive increased thickness and hyper-reflectivity of the peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer associated with the myelinization process. Although the patient remains asymptomatic, myelinization continues to progress.

We reported a 45-year-old man suffering from neuroretinitis with long-standing polyarteritis nodosa and anterior uveitis. Fluorescein angiography, made at the stage when optic disk swelling developed, demonstrated a hypofluorescent area at the temporal part of the optic disc presenting exudates in its prelaminar region. When the swelling of the optic disc had resolved as verified ophthalmoscopically, and the hypofluorescence was angiographically undetectable, a macular star was observed, showing a configuration corresponding to Henle's layer.

Changes in the optic disk and retinal nerve fiber layer are the sole objective indicators of glaucomatous damages. Many investigators held that damages in the optic nerves in glaucoma preceded changes in the visual functions. The optic cups and visual fields of 106 primary open angle glaucoma eyes and 207 eyes of glaucoma suspects were followed up an average 16.6 months. Among 35 eyes that developed changes in the optic cup, the cup changes preceded the visual field changes in 78%, and both changes occurred simultaneously in 22%.

We report a 10-year-old white girl who developed a pinealoblastoma 2 years before presenting to us with metastatic spread to the left optic nerve. She was treated for the original tumor with irradiation and chemotherapy. She presented to us with decreased vision in the left eye, unilateral disk edema, and diffuse left optic nerve swelling without increased intracranial pressure. Biopsy of the posterior optic nerve sheath was required for diagnosis. Vision was lost in the left eye, but the optic nerve swelling diminished after chemotherapy and additional radiation therapy.

We observed a patient with bilateral nonarteritic ischemic optic neuropathy presenting with gradual loss of vision in the right eye and initially asymptomatic disk swelling in the left. This atypical picture may create diagnostic difficulty, since sudden visual loss, the major distinguishing feature between Foster Kennedy's original syndrome and "pseudo-Foster Kennedy syndrome" of ischemic optic neuropathy, is lacking.
