Seven patients with unilateral arterial carotid occlusion and contralateral arterial carotid stenosis in the neck are reported. Dopaminergic agents are commonly used and effective treatments for restless legs syndrome (RLS), a disabling sensorimotor disorder. Less known are some of the potentially disabling side effects of these treatments, particularly iatrogenic gambling addiction, as is described here. The authors report a case of relapsing polychondritis associated with antiphospholipid antibodies. The initial manifestations were recurrent venous thrombosis which occurred prior to the chondritis. Antiphospholipid antibodies are found in various diseases, some of which are sometimes associated to relapsing polychondritis. The advantages and disadvantages of stenting are described together with the marked benefit derived from the pretreatment use of the stent. Gastrocolic fistula caused by benign gastric ulcer is an intriguing condition when it occurs in the patient who has not had prior operation. Four such cases are presented here and similar past cases are reviewed. At term, amniotic fluid contents may mediate the onset of labor through the activation of amniotic fluid macrophages and their migration into the myometrium. BACKGROUND: Bladder perforation by ventriculoperitoneal shunt is a rare complication that has been describe in 19 cases in prior literature.
CASE DESCRIPTION: This work describes the case of a 4-month-old baby who presented with extrusion of the distal catheter through the urethra. The patient underwent a laparotomy; the catheter was cut close to the bladder wall and repositioned into the peritoneal cavity. The bladder wall was sutured, and the remaining distal portion of the catheter was removed through the urethra.

Air-conduction, bone-conduction and air-bone gap was measured prior the surgery and 12 months post stapedotomy for frequencies 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 kHz. The purpose of this study is to highlight the rare possibility of spontaneous resolution of a lacrimal sac mucocele by means of a retrospective case note analysis.
