We measure silane density and Sulfo-EMCS cross-linker coupling efficiency on aminosilane films by high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) measurements. Alverine citrate is one of the most commonly used antispasmodic drugs for patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Alverine-citrate-induced hepatotoxicity is extremely rare, with only a few cases having been reported worldwide. We present a case of a 75-year-old female patient who experienced complicated jaundice and abdominal discomfort after taking alverine citrate. Other causes of hepatitis were ruled out and the results of the liver function test returned to normal after ceasing the drug. This is the first case report in Korea of alverine-citrate-induced hepatotoxicity.

BACKGROUND: The discovery of calcium receptors and calcimimetics created the possibility of "pharmacologic parathyroidectomy" (phPTX), which decreased secretion of parathormone (PTH). Parathyroid glands of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and of patients with primary hyperparathyroidism and hypertension secrete parathyroid hypertensive factor (PHF). Parathyroidectomy decreases blood pressure in these rats and in patients. Postoperative ileus (POI) is an inevitable adverse consequence of surgical procedures.
