We describe a rare case of an extensive primary cranial Ewing's sarcoma located in the greater wing of the sphenoid bone with extension to the orbit, the endocranium, the parapharyngeal and infratemporal space. The patient presented with diplopia, anosmia and prolapse of the left eye. He was given chemo- and radiotherapy and was free of symptoms on re-examination 1.5 years later. The prognosis of Ewing's sarcoma in the absence of surgery is uncertain, but prompt treatment appears to have a satisfactory therapeutic outcome. In the future, more cases should be studied in order to investigate the

INTRODUCTION: Ewing s sarcoma (ES) is a tumorous process that is found mainly in long bones and the pelvis, but its primary location is not often the intracranial zone.
CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 5 year old patient who visited surgery 30 days before hospital admission with increased volume of the left mastoid bone, torticollis, balance disorders and discoordinated movements. A computerised tomography brain scan confirmed our suspicions of a tumorous lesion that was destroying the left mastoid bone, and was invading the projection of the left hemispherium cerebri and edges of the bra

Primary orbital Ewing's sarcoma is a very rare condition. Since the first case was reported in 1950, only 7 other cases have been reported in the English literature. Herein we describe the ninth, the only bilateral and the youngest case of primary orbital Ewing's sarcoma occurring in a 2-year-old boy, who presented to us with bilateral painless proptosis. Tissue biopsy of the tumour was obtained through the nasal sinus. Immunohistological studies of the biopsy tissue confirmed the diagnosis of Ewing's sarcoma. No distant site of the tumour was found so this was considered a primary orbital tum

UNLABELLED: Primary solitary plasmacytoma and Ewing's sarcoma of the chest wall are relatively uncommon tumors, and data concerning treatment and results are sparse. To assess the results of therapy we reviewed our 40-year experience.
METHODS: Records of 24 patients with solitary plasmacytoma and 62 with Ewing's sarcoma arising in the chest wall who were admitted to our institution from 1949 to 1989 were reviewed.
RESULTS: In the group with plasmacytoma (n = 24), ages ranged from 35 to 75 years (median 59 years); male/female ratio was 2.4:1. The presenting complaint was pain or mass or both

Monoarthritis, infrequently recognized as a manifestation of primary malignant disease of the bone, is rarely associated with Ewing's sarcoma. Our patient presented with knee monoarthritis, and histology established the diagnosis of Ewing's sarcoma. His disease apparently remitted with chemotherapy but recurred in multiple sites one year later, and repeat chemotherapy failed to produce a remission.

The differential diagnosis is difficult in cases of metastatic neuroblastoma, Ewing's sarcoma, lymphoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma, the common so-called small round cell tumors of childhood. The distinction between Ewing's sarcoma and neuroblastoma in bone with no soft tissue mass in the adolescent is especially difficult. Ewing's tumor is usually characterized by its content of glycogen, neuroblastoma by its absence. A case of glycogen-containing neuroblastoma initially misdiagnosed as Ewing's tumor is presented. Diagnostic implications, including the role of electron microscopy in diagnosis, are

Ewing sarcoma is one of the two most common bone tumors in childhood and adolescence. More than half of cases occur in the second decade of life. Ewing sarcoma is rare in adults over 30 years old. Men prevail among patients (ratio approximately 1.5:1). Ewing sarcoma is rare in children of black and Asian races. Ewing sarcoma usually occurs in metaphysis or diaphysis of long bones of extremities. Lesions of pelvic bones, ribs and shoulder blades are less common. The most common foci of metastasis are lungs, bones and bone marrow. The authors describe a 12-year-old girl with Ewing sarcoma of pel

Ewing sarcoma is a rare malignant bone tumour that predominantly affects long and flat bones; mandibular involvement is exceptional. We report the case of a 14-year-old boy presenting with a firm, painless right cheek mass that progressively enlarged over 7 months. Clinical examination revealed a mass extending ~9 cm intraorally. The patient underwent surgical excision via vestibular hemimandibulectomy, followed by immediate reconstruction using a chondrocostal graft fixed to a titanium plate, alongside neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analyses c

OBJECTIVE: Extraskeletal Ewing sarcoma (EES) is a variant of Ewing sarcoma that originates from soft tissues rather than bones. Our study aims to characterize the differences between EES and skeletal ES (SES) in the pediatric population.
METHODS: We conducted a retrospective review of children ≤ 18 years with ES recorded in the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB) from 2004 to 2022. Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox proportional hazards regression analysis were used to identify risk factors associated with survival.
RESULTS: Among 7446 identified patients, 1016 (20.9%) had EES and 6430 (79.1%) had SES

Ewing sarcoma (ES) of the maxilla is an exceptionally rare entity that can mimic odontogenic or inflammatory conditions, often resulting in diagnostic delay. We report the case of a 23-year-old female who presented with a painless, progressively enlarging swelling of the anterior maxilla. Imaging demonstrated an expansile osteolytic lesion with cortical disruption. Histopathologic evaluation revealed a small round cell neoplasm, and immunohistochemical analysis showed diffuse membranous expression of cluster of differentiation 99 (CD99) and focal nuclear positivity for Friend leukemia integrat

INTRODUCTION: Ewing sarcoma (EwS) is an uncommon and highly aggressive cancer primarily affecting children and young adults. This tumor constitutes 10 % to 15 % of all bone sarcomas and often presents in the pelvis, axial skeleton, and femur. Despite its rarity, EwS's rapid progression and early metastatic potential make it a significant concern in pediatric oncology, highlighting the need for effective treatment protocols and further research.

Extraskeletal Ewing's sarcoma (ES) has been reported to originate from various sites. Primary endobronchial ES is an extremely rare bronchial tumor, especially multifocal lesions. This report describes a rare presentation of primary bronchial ES in a 31-year-old female who was referred to the emergency department of our hospital due to suspicion of a foreign body in the bronchus. Computed tomography and bronchoscopy revealed multiple polypoid nodules in the middle bronchus of her right lung, thus excluding the initial diagnosis. Infection-related laboratory tests and serum tumor markers were n

BACKGROUND: Ewing's sarcoma is a rare malignant entity. Extraosseous Ewing's sarcoma (EES) of the head and neck region is a rare occurrence, and Ewing's sarcoma of the parotid gland is even rarer. To the best of our knowledge, we reported the first case of extraskeletal ES originating from the parotid gland in the Tunisian literature.
CASE REPORT: We report a rare case of EES of the parotid gland in a 35-year-old female. She presented with left parotid tumefaction. Physical examination revealed solid and fixed mass associated with facial paralysis. Magnetic resonance imaging illustrated a lef

OBJECTIVES: This study investigate the clinical and imaging features of Ewing sarcoma (ES) of the jaw.
METHODS: Eight cases of pathologically diagnosed ES of the jaw from January 2010 to June 2022 were included in the study. Clinical and radiological features were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS: Among the eight cases, the mean age at onset was 29.4 years, and the male to female ratio was 7∶1. The predilecting site was the posterior part of mandible, accounting for 75% of the cases. The lesions often exhibited early numbness of the lower lip and lymphadenopathy. The main radiographic manif

Primary Ewing's kidney sarcoma is a rare and aggressive cancer with poor treatment outcomes. Furthermore, clinical presentations are nonspecific, such as abdominal pain, abdominal mass, cachexia, or hematuria. Currently, there is no consensus guideline for the treatment of this condition. We report on a 22-year-old man who presented with gross hematuria for 3 weeks. Computed tomography demonstrated a huge right renal mass with a thrombus in the inferior vena cava (IVC) without visceral metastasis. A percutaneous tissue biopsy revealed Ewing's sarcoma (ES) and the patient received neoadjuvant c

Ewing sarcoma is a malignant, small, round, blue cell tumor that often affects the long bones and pelvis. It is rarely seen in the bones of the hand. A minority of Ewing sarcoma cases arise in soft tissue. This case report details the clinical and radiological presentation of an extraosseous Ewing sarcoma of the index finger in a 22-year-old woman. Treatment consisted of an index ray amputation followed by adjuvant chemotherapy. After 1 year, the left hand had excellent function with an acceptable cosmetic appearance and no evidence of metastasis or local recurrence.

Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is a rare, highly malignant anaplastic stem cell tumor. Histologically, the tumor consists of uniform densely packed small monomorphic cells with round nuclei. The typical appearance at hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining is small blue round cells without any matrix formation. On conventional radiography, ES typically presents as a permeative lesion in the diaphysis of a long bone in a child. A large soft tissue component is another characteristic feature, best depicted by magnetic resonance imaging.Primary osseous lymphomas are most commonly highly malignant B-cell lymph
