A large outbreak of Legionnaires' disease occurred at a California state prison in August 2015. We conducted environmental and epidemiological investigations to identify the most likely source of exposure and characterise morbidity. BACKGROUND: In the United States, the American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) population is aging and the leading causes of death for those 55 and older are chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and the complications of diabetes. Historically, the combination of women's rights to care, population concerns and the development of female-oriented contraceptive methods resulted in family planning programs focusing on women's contraceptive needs and little else. The 1994 United Nations Population Conference in Cairo called for an expansion of programs to cover reproductive health in its broadest interpretation.
