Human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) has two trans-acting regulator genes, tax and rex, in the pX region. However, those for transgender women (trans women) undergoing gender-affirming hormone therapy remain unclear. Dalbergia odorifera is widely used to treat cardiovascular diseases. Our research group found that Dalbergia odorifera volatile oil has a good anti-myocardial ischemic effect, and its main pharmacodynamic components are trans-nerolol and its oxides. However, the exact mechanisms underlying this effect have not yet been elucidated. This study aimed to explore the potential myocardial protective effects of trans-nerolol and its underlying molecular mechanisms. Series of N-alkylated derivatives of trans-octahydrobenzo[g]quinoline and of cis- and trans-octahydrobenzo[f]quinoline were prepared for pharmacological testing as congeners of 2-amino-5,7-dihydroxytetralin, which elicits dopaminergic effects in a variety of assays.
