Squirrel adenovirus (SqAdV) was reported previously. However, only partial sequences of its hexon and polymerase genes have been revealed. For the first time, we report the full-length genome of SqAdV including the complete hexon and penton base genes. From internal body organs of 59 red squirrels archived in Korea Bank for Pathogenic Viruses, the hexon, penton base, and full-length genome of SqAdV were determined by a PCR method. Detailed allergologic investigations, allergy histories and skin tests in 80 patients with perioral dermatitis led to the conclusion that the disease has to be considered a manifestation of atopy. Thus another clinical entity would have to be added to the hitherto known manifestations of the atopic constitution. A total of 208 sows and 288 gilts (PIC line C29) were used to determine the influence of feeding frequency (2 vs. 6 times/d, floor fed) on performance and welfare measurements on a commercial sow farm. Treatments consisted of feeding similar amounts of feed to each sow (2.5 kg) or gilt (2.05 kg) over 2 (0700 and 1530) or 6 times daily (0700, 0730, 0800, 1530, 1600, and 1630).
