Phosphotyrosyl polypeptides induced following CD3- or CD2- specific antibody stimulation were analysed in different human T cell lines by immunoblotting or by immunoprecipitation of 32P-labelled cell lysates using a phosphotyrosine-specific monoclonal antibody. OBJECTIVE: To identify and investigate the susceptibility genes of Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) in Chinese population.
METHODS: Whole-exome capturing and sequencing technology was used for the detection of genetic variations in 19 individuals from six families with high incidence of KBD. Hepatosplenic gammadelta T-cell lymphoma (HSTL) is a clinicopathological entity associated with an immunocompromised status in approximately 25% of patients. A novel interleukin-2 (IL-2)-dependent cell line, HANK1, was established from a patient with CD56+ NK/T-cell lymphoma arising in the retroperitoneum. Morphologically, HANK1 is a pleomorphic large cell line with irregular nuclei, which contains azurophilic granules in the cytoplasm. Immunophenotypic analysis showed that HANK1 expressed CD2, CD3epsilon, CD56, TIA-1, granzyme B, and HLA-DR, but no other T-lineage markers. These features were the same as seen in the original tumour, and are highly characteristic of nasal and 'nasal-type' NK/T-cell lymphoma as described in the proposed W.H.O. class

A case of chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis in a Malaysian child who subsequently developed disseminated tuberculosis and toxoplasmosis is described. The phenotype of her peripheral blood mononuclear cells showed discordance for her T cell markers. The presence of a subpopulation of CD2-/CD3+ mononuclear cells leading to an immunodeficiency state is consistent with failure of activation of CD2-mediated alternative pathway resulting in immunodeficiency. INTRODUCTION: The diagnosis of systemic mastocytosis (SM) is based on a combination of major and minor criteria. Flow cytometric detection of aberrant expression of CD2 and/or CD25 on CD117-positive mast cells is one of the minor criteria used. In the present study we examined the sensitivity and specificity of mast cell immunophenotyping in the diagnosis of SM.
