Suppressor cell activity (SCA) was investigated longitudinally, at the time of diagnosis and during the remission period, in 17 patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). During acute cytomegaloviral (CMV) mononucleosis, mononuclear leukocytes displayed diminished responsiveness to certain mitogens.
