Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup code of conduct for diversity in gynecological cancer trials: a clinical guide from the Berlin Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup meeting.

OBJECTIVE: Under-representation of key population groups limits the generalizability, applicability, and equity of evidence generated by gynecologic oncology trials. Building on the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup Barcelona consensus, this initiative aimed to translate the principles of diversity into a structured, practice-oriented Code of Conduct spanning all phases of clinical research. METHODS: As the third step in an iterative Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup consensus process, a Code of Conduct was developed and formally adopted at the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup Berlin Meeting. Proposed diagnostic criteria for classical chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), CMML variants and pre-CMML conditions.

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a myeloid neoplasm characterized by dysplasia, abnormal production and accumulation of monocytic cells and an elevated risk of transforming into acute leukemia. Over the past two decades, our knowledge about the pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms in CMML has increased substantially. In parallel, better diagnostic criteria and therapeutic strategies have been developed. However, many questions remain regarding prognostication and optimal therapy. In addition, there is a need to define potential pre-phases of CMML and special CMML variants, and to sep

Clinical practice guidelines for the care of girls and women with Turner syndrome: proceedings from the 2016 Cincinnati International Turner Syndrome Meeting.

Turner syndrome affects 25-50 per 100,000 females and can involve multiple organs through all stages of life, necessitating multidisciplinary approach to care. Previous guidelines have highlighted this, but numerous important advances have been noted recently. These advances cover all specialty fields involved in the care of girls and women with TS. This paper is based on an international effort that started with exploratory meetings in 2014 in both Europe and the USA, and culminated with a Consensus Meeting held in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA in July 2016. Prior to this meeting, five groups each ad

Connecting behaviour change to systems change: rethinking climate action in scientific societies.

Climate change is increasingly recognised as one of the greatest threats to public health, and scientific societies, like the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA), are rightly asking how they can contribute to meaningful action. Yet a fundamental question remains largely unanswered: how can individual action be connected to efforts to address systemic drivers? At its 2026 conference in Cádiz, Spain, ISBNPA asked presenters to declare the estimated carbon emissions from their travel to the conference. Well-intentioned as it is, viewed through a systems le

Geographic Impact of Surgical Conferences on Travel Burden and Carbon Emissions: Multisociety Study.

INTRODUCTION: In-person surgical conferences generate substantial travel-related carbon emissions, largely driven by long-distance transportation. Prior studies have examined individual meetings, but multisociety analyses remain limited. We evaluated travel distance and modeled carbon emissions across major North American surgical society meetings to determine the impact of conference location on environmental burden. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted a retrospective observational study of 22,976 attendees from five surgical societies across 14 conferences (2022-2025). Attendee home locatio

Pathogenesis of Post-Tuberculosis Lung Disease: Defining Knowledge Gaps and Research Priorities at the Second International Post-Tuberculosis Symposium.

Post-tuberculosis (post-TB) lung disease is increasingly recognized as a major contributor to the global burden of chronic lung disease, with recent estimates indicating that over half of TB survivors have impaired lung function after successful completion of TB treatment. However, the pathologic mechanisms that contribute to post-TB lung disease are not well understood, thus limiting the development of therapeutic interventions to improve long-term outcomes after TB. This report summarizes the work of the Pathogenesis and Risk Factors Committee for the Second International Post-Tuberculosis S

CROI 2024: Summary of Basic Science Research in HIV.

Scientists from around the world gathered in Denver for the Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI). The conference maintained its existing format and used a combination of plenary lectures, workshops, oral abstract sessions, themed discussions, and interactive symposia to deliver the latest advances in HIV/AIDS research to the almost 4000 delegates in attendance. As with previous CROI meetings, the conference provided a fertile environment for early-stage investigators who were interested in getting updates in areas of research outside of their particular domain. This w

Two leading international congresses in Iran in the era of COVID-19: 21st royan international twin congress, 4th international and 16th Iranian genetics congress.

In this report, we look at the challenges posed by the outbreak of COVID-19 and how the Executive Board of these two congresses succeeded in overcoming those challenges and holding two congresses. The approach for a large festival with different virtual setting components provided a suitable solution that led to exemplary achievements and created an appropriate model for future virtual or combined virtual and face-to-face events. These events proved that pandemic problems could not limit the organizers, pushing them to make better use of the facilities and turning this threat into an opportuni
