We report an exceptional case of intestinal ischaemia requiring resection, secondary to torsion around a long Meckel's diverticulum. Meckel's diverticulum is an uncommon congenital abnormality of the small bowel. Anterior urethral valves with associated urethral diverticulum is a rare but important cause of infravesical obstructive uropathy in children. This condition can be a cause of significant morbidity and can even lead to end-stage renal disease. This rare condition should be included in the differential diagnosis while evaluating male infants with infravesical obstructive uropathy.

OBJECTIVE: To report on four patients with obstruction of the upper urinary tract due to severe ureteric strictures at different levels, in whom a Meckel's diverticulum was used for ureteric replacement.

Diverticula arising from the mitral valve are very rare. They are usually detected by echocardiography as masses arising from the cardiac valves. We present a case of an incidental finding of a diverticulum arising from the mitral valve. This was initially detected by transesophageal echocardiography, and later confirmed by pathologic appearance. The case illustrates the unique findings on echocardiography that would help to differentiate diverticula from other valvular masses.

Meckel's diverticulum is an uncommon cause of acute abdominal pain and small bowel obstruction in adults. We present a case of a 31-yr-old man with recurrent vomiting and abdominal pain in whom the diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum was not suspected until CT of the abdomen revealed multiple fluid-filled, dilated loops of ileum with distal collapse after normal abdominal radiographs. We suggest that CT may be helpful when the diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum is suspected.
