OBJECTIVE: To study the therapeutic effect of Weicao Capsule (WCC) on gout.

Crocodylus siamensis hemoglobin was purified by a size exclusion chromatography, Sephacryl S-100 with buffer containing dithiothreitol. The purified Hb was dissociated to be two forms (α chain and β chain) which observed by SDS-PAGE, indicated that the C. siamensis Hb was an unpolymerized form. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the metabolic effects of open Roux-en Y gastric bypass (RYGB) on pancreatic endocrine reserve in overweight/obese Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes during postoperative year 1.

PURPOSE: To determine efficacy and toxicities of postoperative concurrent chemoradiation using docetaxel in high-risk head and neck cancer.
METHODS AND MATERIALS: High-risk patients were enrolled 2-8 weeks after surgery. Treatment included 60 Gy for 6 weeks with weekly docetaxel 25 mg/m(2) and erythropoietin alpha 40,000 U for hemoglobin < or =12 g/dL.
