Low-temperature growth of indium tin oxide (ITO) nanowires (NWs) was obtained on catalyst-free amorphous glass substrates at 250 °C by Nd:YAG pulsed-laser deposition. These ITO NWs have branching morphology as grown in Ar ambient. In this work we describe the development of parameters for In(III) and Cu(II) for the AMBER force field as found in the modeling package MacroModel. These parameters were developed using automated procedures from a combination of crystallographic structures and ab initio calculations. PURPOSE: Unusual pulmonary uptake of In-111 chloride in a patient with Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia and autoimmune hepatitis is described.
METHOD: In-111 chloride bone marrow scintigraphy was performed to evaluate the bone marrow activity associated with pancytopenia in a 56-year-old woman with autoimmune hepatitis.
RESULTS: An In-111 chloride bone marrow scan showed increased pulmonary uptake predominantly in both upper lung fields. P. carinii pneumonia was seen to be developing as an immunocompromised complication after treatment for autoimmune hepatitis.

A method to improve the efficiency of labelling of adherent cells with radioactive 32p is described. Cells are grown on a glass surface which is coated with indium-tin oxide, a commercially available, transparent material which permits excellent cell adhesion and growth. The results show that a 2 to 3-fold increase in 32p uptake by the cells can be achieved by growing cells on this material, compared to conventional tissue culture plastic.

A Mannich-type reaction was used to attach flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) covalently to aminosilane derivatized indium/tin oxide-coated glass plates.
