BACKGROUND: Scleroderma is a chronic, multisystem, autoimmune disease. Previous studies have shown an increased risk of malignancy in scleroderma; the most common cancers were lung cancer and breast cancer.
CASE: The patient, a 43-year-old nulliparous premenopausal Greek woman with scleroderma, presented with a history of abdominal pain and atypical vaginal bleeding. She underwent total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, total omentectomy, appendectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection. Three cases of patients with synchronous multiple thymoma are reported. Two patients had two thymomas each and the remaining patient had three. A 77-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with anemia and anorexia. Neither gastrointestinal endoscopy nor computed tomography showed by abnormal findings; however, a capsule endoscopy, performed to detect obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, revealed a tumor in the ileum. BACKGROUND: Chronic, non- or little pigmented reddish or brownish lesions on the lid margin and the surrounding skin are frequently underestimated and thus carry a clear risk of malignancy.
HISTORY AND SIGNS: A 61-year-old lady was referred with a chronic, reddish lesion in the medial third of the left lower lid after a topical therapy over a period of 4 months had not improved the situation. She noticed the lesion for the first time 10 previously. Recurrent trichiasis and a slight ulceration had developed during the last year.

A 46-year-old woman had a 13 cm long benign fibroepithelial polyp arising in the right lower ureter and prolapsing through the urethral meatus. She also had uterine fibromyomata. She made an uneventful recovery after laparotomy with supravaginal amputation of the uterus and resection of a 1-cm segment of the ureter. The diagnosis of the lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS), whose frequency is estimated to range from 0.8 to 3.8 p. cent of breast cancers on the whole, is exclusively anatomopathological since it does not have any specific clinical and/or radiological characteristics. After describing the two main differential diagnoses, the various possible treatments are studied, bearing in mind that the therapeutic strategy must take into account the three characteristics which are typical of LCIS: multicentricity, bilaterality and the possible occurrence of an invasive cancer.

Patients treated with conservative surgery and radiotherapy for early-stage breast carcinoma are at risk of developing an ipsilateral breast recurrence for a long period. Fortunately, few such patients present with an inoperable recurrence or simultaneous distant metastases. Salvage rates are high and may be improved by early detection. We have reported a case of pseudopolyposis in the unusual form of filiform polyps in the transverse colon with an adenomatous polyp in the sigmoid colon that had a focus of malignant degeneration. The patient did not have any significant past history of inflammatory bowel disease.

A 42-year-old woman with an 18-year history of suprasellar tumor, treated by repeated radiation therapy and surgery, was found to have both a craniopharyngioma and subependymoma of the third ventricle. The case is unique in that well documented subependymomas have not been reported in this location. Furthermore, only a few cases of subependymoma have been reported to be accompanied by a primary tumor of the central nervous system other than an ependymoma. Potential causative factors for this seemingly reactive subependymoma are briefly discussed.

Intracerebral schwannoma is very rare, and only nine cases of solitary intracerebral schwannoma have been reported since the first description by Gibson et al, in 1966.
