The aim of this study was to determine the association of benign recurrent vertigo (BRV) and migraine, using standardized questionnaire-based interview of 208 patients with BRV recruited through a University Neurotology clinic. OBJECTIVE: To describe the first case of sertraline-induced diplopia.
METHOD: Medline and PubMed data search using the words sertraline, Zoloft, diplopia, double vision. A case summary of a patient who developed diplopia from sertraline.

A 34-year-old woman presented with a 3-month history of right-sided headaches associated with photophobia and pulsatile tinnitus. Investigations including lumbar puncture revealed elevated opening CSF pressure, increased protein, and presence of monocytosis consistent with an inflammatory/infective process. Brain MRI showed an area of thickened enhancing dura around the venous sinus posteriorly. Ga scintigraphy demonstrated focal intracranial uptake in the posterior occipital region, and biopsy confirmed a chronic inflammatory infiltrate with no granulomas.

Artificial iris implants were originally developed for therapeutic purposes but have recently been used for cosmetic alteration of the eye colour. A 21-year-old woman presented with bilateral eye redness, visual loss, raised intraocular pressure, corneal oedema and hyphaema following implantation of artificial irises in Tunisia. Combined medical and surgical management led to improvements, but reduced vision and photophobia persisted. Cosmetic iris implantation can lead to persistently sight-threatening eye complications, and we strongly advise against its use.

Idiopathic low cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure headache is considered to be one that worsens within 15 min of sitting-up or standing-up, accompanied by at least one of the following: neck stiffness, tinnitus, hypacusia, photophobia and nausea. Several reports suggest that a substantial number of idiopathic low CSF pressure cases do not present typical clinical symptoms and that a considerable clinical variability exists. We report the case of an idiopathic low CSF pressure presenting as a cough headache.

Unusual corneal stromal deposits at the level of Browman's membrane and superficial stroma were associated with severe photophobia and tearing as the initial signs of an IgG kappa monoclonal gammopathy. A corneal biopsy specimen showed superficial stroma areas that stained red with Masson trichrome stain. These deposits were positive for IgG and kappa chains. Histopathologic examination revealed focal disruption in Bowman's membrane with extension into the epithelium. Electron microscopy of the deposits disclosed parallel linear profiles compatible with immunoglobulin.

The authors present a case of a 15-year-old girl with Leber's congenital amaurosis with associated nephronophthisis. The main findings in this case are: congenital blindness; enophthalmos; photophobia; nystagmus; keratoconus; cataracts; pigmentary degeneration in the fundus of both eyes; progressive uremia with absence of hematuria, proteinuria, pyuria, and glycosuria; low urinary density, normal lipidic profile; osteoporosis; absence of edema; polydipsia; polyuria; and a history of consanguinity between her parents. Tranmission of this entity allows an autosomal recessive pattern.

We present the case of a 81-year-old patient with right facial palsy suffering from recurrent medial ectropion with lower lateral dislocation of the lacrimal punctum causing epiphora and photophobia. The patient was first treated for ectropion with lateral tarsal strip procedure. Unfortunately, this surgical procedure did not get the expected result. This was the reason we used the Mitek anchor system to fix the lower lateral dislocation of the punctum. We had no recurrence of symptoms during a follow-up period of 18 months.

Uveitis is a heterogeneous group of clinical entities that have in common ocular inflammation.
