Three Incomplete Caries Removal Techniques Compared Over Two Years in Primary Molars with Asymptomatic Deep Caries or Reversible Pulpitis.

PURPOSE: To directly compare the survival rates of three incomplete caries removal techniques that differed in the amount of caries removal and the base material used. METHODS: Ninety-six primary molars with asymptomatic deep caries or reversible pulpitis were randomly assigned to three groups: (1) indirect pulp treatment (IPT); (2) minimal caries removal with both resin-modified glass ionomer base material and luting cement (MCRB/L); and (3) minimal caries removal with only resin-modified glass ionomer luting cement (MCRL). The treatments were followed clinically and radiographically for two

Influence of Retainer Design on Shear Bond Strength in Fixed Partial Dentures: An In Vitro Comparative Study.

BACKGROUND: Resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses (RBFDPs) are considered conservative alternatives to conventional fixed partial dentures for replacing missing teeth. However, concerns regarding retention and debonding remain, particularly in posterior regions. This study evaluated the influence of different retainer designs on the shear bond strength (SBS) of fixed partial dentures. METHODS: Fifteen monolithic zirconia fixed partial dentures were divided into three groups: conventional overlay-retained FPD (OVL), modified overlay-retained FPD (MOVL), and conventional full-coverage crown-reta

Exploring fiberglass post numbers for enhanced fatigue resistance in molars without coronary remnants.

This study aimed to assess the fatigue resistance of molars lacking a coronary remnant, using zero, one, two, or three fiberglass posts. Forty caries/crack-free human molars with coronal portions removed at the pulp chamber floor were randomly allocated into four groups (n=10). Following endodontic treatment, posts (Whitepost DC/DC.E 0.5, 1.0, FGM) were silanized (silane agent, Angelus) and cemented with a resin cement (RelyX U200, 3M ESPE). Resin composite cores (Z350, 3M ESPE) were built, and metal crowns were fabricated and cemented using the same luting system. Samples underwent cyclic fat

Mini Fiberglass Post for Ankylosed Tooth Reconstruction: A Clinical Technique.

It was possible to restore the shape and function of a severely ankylosed tooth by fabricating a ceramic crown for placement on a resin reconstruction supported by mini fiberglass posts. By increasing the retention of the morphological reconstruction for the future support of indirect restorations, cementable intradentinal fiberglass posts enhance the longevity of these restorations. Ultimately, all proposals that seek to improve the long-term prognosis of restorations on ankylosed teeth, especially severely impacted ones, are of extreme clinical relevance.

[Allergens and harmful factors in the light of occupational dermatitis registration in Poland in 1978].

786 occupational dermatoses notification in Poland have been analysed. The significance of the compounds of chromium, cobalt, oils, lubricants, cement, epidians and epoxy resins in the pathogenesis of occupational dermatoses has been presented. The recommended "set of 5 allergens" is sufficient to explain the cause of about half of the diseases. Epidemiological data on occupational dermatoses confirm the advisability of adopting the author's criteria of handling occupational dermatoses and considering the possibilities of certain technological improvements.
