An electrochemical method is developed to quantitatively modify and spectroscopically monitor the size and shape of Ag nanotriangles fabricated by nanosphere lithography (NSL) on an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode surface. AFM and SEM results demonstrate that the preferential order of electrochemical oxidation for a nanotriangle is, surprisingly, bottom edges first, then triangular tips, then out-of-plane height.

A St. Jude Medical Silzone was implanted in a 72-year-old female, suffering from mitral valve disease. Four months later, the patient had acute cardiac failure due to partial detachment of the prosthetic valve. Chronic ingestion of excessive amounts of fluoride from commercial fox food is associated with agalactia in vixens resulting in the starvation deaths of large numbers of kits in three fox herds. Evidence of infectious disease or poor management could not be found and a causal relationship between fluoride and high kit mortality is suggested.

A simple and rapid method for the demonstration of acid mucopolysaccharide using colloidal iron, sulphosalicylic acid ammoniacal silver is described. Satisfactory staining of human as well as animal tissue was obtained following 10% neutral formol saline fixation and paraffin sections. There were no oxidation or hydrolysis sequences. The staining specificity was controlled using methylation and saponification. The distribution of the acid mucopolysaccharide demonstrated by this method was identical with that obtained by colloidal iron Perls' reaction.

Herein, a visible-light-active Fe-doped NH2-UiO-66(Zr)@AgI Z-scheme heterostructure was prepared via an ion exchange precipitation method. By varying AgI content, reduced particle size and enhanced charge separation for efficient photodegradation was achieved.
