Twist of stomach remnant post sleeve gastrectomy is a rare entity and difficult to diagnose pre-operatively. We are reporting a case of gastric volvulus post laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, which was managed conservatively. A 38-year-old lady with a body mass index of 54 underwent laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. Sleeve gastrectomy was performed over a 32 French bougie using Endo-GIA tri-stapler. INTRODUCTION: Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is an embryologic defect that creates a passage for herniation of abdominal structures into the thoracic cavity. Concomitant gastric and mesenteric volvulus was diagnosed in a 5-year-old Komondorok. Despite surgical correction of both displacements, the dog died 14 hours after surgery. Although gastric volvulus is a well-known syndrome in dogs, mesenteric volvulus has been reported infrequently. This report illustrates the importance of radiography in cases of suspected gastric volvulus to rule out other potential causes of acute abdominal distention, including mesenteric volvulus.

Spontaneous transdiaphragmatic intercostal hernia is an extremely rare clinical entity featuring dual defects in the diaphragm and chest wall. We report on the case of a 59-year-old man who developed a large left-sided hernia secondary to the minor trauma of a coughing fit. The hernia subsequently enlarged over the course of 3 years until it contained the stomach, leading to a gastric volvulus and tension gastrothorax with secondary pneumothorax. A subtotal gastrectomy was performed with Roux-en-Y reconstruction, and he made a full recovery.

Morgagni hernias are a rare form of congenital diaphragmatic hernias, thus there is paucity in literature about the diagnosis and management of the condition. We report an 83-year-old woman who presented with vomiting and a metabolic acidosis with a previous computed tomography diagnosis of Bochdalek's hernia. We present the case of a 62 year old male who presented to the emergency room with abdominal pain and vomiting in coffee grounds. In the diagnostic study, a gastric volvulus was detected and initial endoscopic management was decided. He presented a torpid clinical evolution, which eventually required surgical intervention as the final treatment. We highlight gastric volvulus as a rare urgent pathology, whose optimal management is still to be defined.

Gastric volvulus is a condition that brings diagnostically difficulties due to various symptoms. It can be an easily missed diagnosis, which can have severe consequences in acute cases with gastric necrosis, perforation, and sepsis. A 5-year-old intact female Holland lop rabbit was presented with acute hyporexia, lethargy, and marked abdominal pain. Blood biochemistry analysis indicated elevations in ALT, ALP, and total bilirubin. A point-of-care ultrasound revealed displacement of the spleen into the left cranial abdomen, suggestive of gastric dilatation and volvulus (GDV). Exploratory laparotomy confirmed a 180° clockwise GDV. Gastric derotation and incisional gastropexy were successfully completed. Gastric volvulus is a rare complication after pulmonary resection. To date, only eight cases of postpulmonary resection gastric volvulus have been reported in the English literature, and several of these patients underwent left pneumonectomy or had hiatal hernia. This report describes a case of postlobectomy gastric volvulus in a 73-year-old woman without hiatal hernia.

Angina pectoris is a common complaint in any emergency service, but it rarely is of extracardiac origin. A rare case of gastric volvulus which presented a recurrent angina pectoris in a 47-year-old man is reported. Repeated episodes of angina pectoris in a patient with a negative cardiac investigation should alert the physician to the possibility of extracardiac pathology.
