The key steps to improve the outcome are early diagnosis of TIA and stroke symptoms, access to thrombolytic and thrombectomy therapy, urgent medical secondary prevention and acute care in a dedicated stroke unit where assessment and rehabilitation are started and carried out by a multi-professional rehabilitation team.
