Histopathologic and ultrastructural findings in an eye from a patient with complete oculocutaneous albinism are reported. Examination revealed posterior embryotoxon, high myopia, no foveal differentiation, and absence of melanin pigment in all ocular structures. A few nonmembrane-bound electron-dense granules of lipofuscin were present in the iris and retinal pigment epithelial cells.

A 77 year old man presented with a decreased vision, quite anterior segments, vitreous haze (++) (cells and flare) OD > OS, snow banks and snow balls at the inferior pars plana, suggesting an intermediate uveitis. The eyeglobe is one of the classical domains of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) in biology as it exposes several inner and outer surfaces. Both corneal and conjunctival epithelia towards the tear film as well as the corneal endothelial cells facing the anterior chamber may be accurately evaluated.
