Deep Learning and Machine Learning Algorithms for Cervical Cancer Segmentation on MRI: A Systematic Review.

INTRODUCTION: Cervical cancer management relies heavily on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for staging and treatment planning; however, manual segmentation is time-consuming and prone to variability. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the performance and clinical potential of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms for automated cervical cancer segmentation on MRI. METHODS: A systematic review guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) (PROSPERO: CRD420251247441) was conducted by searching PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Scopus, We

GANCIU-Geospatial Analysis with Neural Classification and Image Understanding.

Accurate and up-to-date knowledge of land use and land cover represents one of the central challenges in spatial planning and landscape sciences. In this context, the present work introduces GANCIU (Geospatial Analysis with Neural Classification and Image Understanding), an original hybrid pipeline for the automatic extraction of man-made infrastructure from high-resolution satellite imagery. The primary methodological contribution lies in the sequential integration of four technologically heterogeneous components: a per-pixel Random Forest classifier, a guided image modulation step, edge dete

Corticospinal effects and motor performance changes following resistance training in healthy adults: a systematic review and meta-analysis of transcranial magnetic stimulation.

BACKGROUND: Resistance training is widely utilized to enhance motor performance in healthy populations. Its effects arise not only from peripheral muscular adaptations but also from neuroplastic changes within the central nervous system. Transcranial magnetic stimulation enables noninvasive quantification of corticospinal excitability; however, existing evidence in apparently healthy adults lacks systematic synthesis. OBJECTIVE: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of resistance training on corticospinal excitability and motor performance in healthy adults.

PICDGI: A framework for predicting cancer driver genes through dynamic gene-gene interaction modeling of single-cell data.

Identifying cancer driver genes (CDGs) remains a central challenge in cancer genomics, as frequency-based mutation approaches often miss rare but functionally important regulators. We present PICDGI, a computational framework that predicts driver-like regulatory genes by integrating dynamic gene-gene interaction modeling with single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data. Rather than relying on DNA mutation calls, PICDGI infers functional driver activity from time-resolved expression patterns and latent regulatory influence among genes during tumor progression. Methodologically, PICDGI employs a

Electrophysiological profile after a first unprovoked seizure - a prospective high-density EEG study.

PURPOSE: Retrospective low-density EEG studies have shown distinct functional connectivity (FC) and power in patients after a first unprovoked seizure, but have methodological limitations. In this prospective observational study, we addressed these limitations and evaluated power and FC in unmedicated, non-lesional patients after a first unprovoked seizure. We further compared patients who developed epilepsy to those who did not after one year of follow-up, and evaluated network differences relative to patients with chronic idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE), non-lesional focal epilepsy, an

Development of a potential vaccine against Capripox virus implementing reverse vaccinology and pan-genomic immunoinformatics.

CPXV is responsible for animal diseases affecting cattle (Lumpy Skin Disease), sheep (Sheeppox), and goats (Goatpox). During outbreaks, these diseases have huge socio-economic effects. Now, no vaccination that is effective against sheeppox, goatpox, and lumpy skin disease is available. This work used an immunoinformatic methodology to discover possible targets for vaccination against CPXV. After the 122 CPXV proteins were obtained from the Vipr database, several investigations into the proteins' virulence, antigenicity, toxicity, solubility, and IFN-g activity were carried out. Three outer mem

Discovery of F-18 labeled repurposed CNS drugs by computational strategy for effective tau imaging and alzheimer's diagnosis.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains a significant challenge in diagnosis and treatment, with current methods insufficient for early detection. A major obstacle is the lack of effective imaging agents targeting the Tau protein, which plays a key role in AD pathology. To address this, we developed a computational methodology for selecting F-18 labeled drug candidates from a library of CNS-penetrant compounds curated from literature and databases. The library, consisting of 977 compounds, was evaluated based on clinical data, target proteins, pathways, toxicity, and other relevant factors. We implem
