Vertical root fractures lead to advanced periodontal breakdown with deep periodontal pockets and vertical bone defects. The purpose of this study is to evaluate clinically the periodontal healing of root fracture treatment using adhesive resin cement. The truncated phospholipids 1-palmitoyl-2-(5-oxovaleroyl)-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (POVPC) and 1-palmitoyl-2-glutaroyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (PGPC) are oxidation products of 1-palmitoyl-2-arachidonoyl phosphatidylcholine. Depending on concentration and the extent of modification, these compounds induce growth and death, differentiation and inflammation of vascular cells thus playing a role in the development of atherosclerosis. BACKGROUND: Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) is an important problem after heart transplantation. Most cases seem to occur in sensitized recipients with preformed donor-specific human leukocyte antigen antibody (DSA) early after transplantation. Few data exist on AMR in patients who form de novo DSA. We describe the clinical features and treatment outcome for late AMR secondary to de novo DSA.

Bortezomib is a proteasome inhibitor important to the therapy of multiple myeloma (MM), though a number of patients show resistance to this drug. To study the cellular basis of this resistance we have generated a MM cell line displaying enhanced (5-6-fold) resistance to bortezomib by serial cultivation of RPMI 8226 cells with increasing concentrations of this drug. The use of c-abl-specific inhibitors such as Imatinib (IM) or Dasatinib has revolutionized the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
